Selling Online in Pakistan: COD, Couriers and Higher Delivered Orders
A practical guide to cash on delivery, courier integration, WhatsApp confirmation and reducing returns for e-commerce brands in Pakistan.

E-commerce in Pakistan is growing quickly, but it comes with its own rules. Most orders are still paid in cash on delivery (COD), which means a placed order isn't a sale until it is delivered and paid for. Brands that manage this well grow profitably; brands that don't can lose money on every return.
Why delivered orders matter more than placed orders
When an order is returned, you pay for shipping both ways, packaging and staff time, and the stock is tied up. If your return rate is high, a campaign that looks profitable in Ads Manager can actually be losing money.
That's why we report on delivered orders and delivered revenue, not just purchases.
1. Confirm every order
Automated order confirmation is one of the highest-impact changes a Pakistani store can make.
- Send a WhatsApp or SMS confirmation immediately after the order is placed.
- Ask the customer to confirm or cancel with one tap.
- Call unconfirmed orders before dispatch.
- Flag repeat cancellers and suspicious addresses.
2. Integrate your courier
Manual booking is slow and error-prone. Integrating your store with couriers such as PostEx, Leopards, TCS, Trax or M&P lets you book shipments automatically, print labels and track deliveries in one place. Some couriers also offer faster COD payouts, which helps cash flow.
3. Set clear expectations
- Show delivery times clearly on product pages and at checkout.
- Publish a simple return and exchange policy.
- Use real product photos and size guides to avoid "not as expected" returns.
4. Build trust before the order
Pakistani shoppers are cautious, and rightly so. Trust signals reduce hesitation and cancellations:
- Real customer reviews with photos and videos.
- Unboxing and try-on videos on product pages and in ads.
- A visible WhatsApp number for questions.
- Professional branding and packaging.
5. Offer prepaid incentives
Encourage prepaid orders through JazzCash, Easypaisa, bank transfer or cards with a small discount or free shipping. Prepaid orders rarely get refused.
6. Run ads that pre-qualify buyers
Ads that clearly show the price, product and delivery terms attract buyers who are less likely to refuse the parcel. Creative in Urdu or Roman Urdu often connects better with mass-market audiences.
7. Track the right numbers
- Confirmation rate
- Delivery (success) rate
- Return rate by city, product and campaign
- Cost per delivered order
The bottom line
In Pakistan, profitable growth comes from what happens after the click: confirmation, delivery and trust. Our Pakistan e-commerce team builds stores, automations and campaigns designed around delivered revenue.
